Frequently Asked Questions :
What is Partnerships for Success?
Partnerships for Success (PfS) is a collaborative process whereby counties develop a comprehensive 5-year plan for positive community development.

Where does PfS originate?
PfS is an expansion of the federal Comprehensive Strategy program governed by the U.S. Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Office. Five Ohio counties previously completed this process.

How did Richland County become involved with PfS?
In March 2002 the Ohio Family and Children First Council released the PfS grant application to 81 counties. The Richland County Youth and Family Council and others from around the community worked steadily for two months to submit a winning application. More than 80 letters with examples of community collaboration accompanied our application and demonstrated our community’s readiness.

What happens next?
Our PfS strategic plan must be data–driven, thus the first step will be to form workgroups to gather information about key areas of our community.

How will this be done?
Success with PfS requires community participation. Working with the United Way and the Richland County Vision Board, citizens, parents, community leaders, educators, youth, and area experts will be invited to help develop our county’s PfS strategic plan.

How can I help?
There are many areas where your help is needed including leading and/or working on workgroups, data and information gathering, solution building, and enlisting the participation of others.

Where can I get more info?
Call the Richland County Youth and Family Council at 419-522-8213 or click here to contact us via our website. We’ll be happy to answer any of your questions about Partnerships for Success.
